Some years ago the logic of work and companies would have been people need to work longer and harder, It has flipped now, so there’s this idea that people can be more efficient, they can do five days of work in four days.

Some thoughts on how could be implemented:

  • Measure the team’s output, not attendance. Prob easier if you are already working with flexi-time with your daily hours.
  • Add 30 minutes to each day and remove 1 full day per week. The working week then will become 32 hours, not 37.5 hours.
  • Split the teams into 2 so you’ll still have 5-day coverage. Maybe have stated fixed days off.
  • And the best thing: 2 x normal and 2 x extra long weekends per month!

I think this should lead to a more productive, happy, and loyal team. Do you agree?
